Truck and pup

Trucks and puppies are very similar to the transfer dump.It consists of a standard dump truck towing a dump trailer.Unlike transfers, small trailers have their own hydraulic cylinders and are able to unload themselves.

Superdump truck

The Super Dump Truck is a direct loading dump truck with a rear axle, liftable load bearing axle rated up to 13,000 lbs (5,897 kg).At 11 to 13 feet (3.35 to 3.96 m) behind the rear tandem, the rear axle stretches the outer "bridge" measurement (the distance between the first and last axle) to the maximum allowable overall length. That adds to the total weight allowed by the federal bridge formula, which sets standards for truck size and weight.Depending on vehicle length and axle configuration, the Superdump can be rated for a gross weight of up to 80,000 lb (36,287 kg) and carry payloads of 26 short tons (23.6 tons; 23.2 long tons) or more. When the truck is empty or ready to unload, the rear axle is tilted off the road on two hydraulic arms to clear the rear of the vehicle.Truck owners call their longitudinal axle-equipped trucks Superdumps because they far exceed the payload, productivity and return on investment of traditional dump trucks.Superdump and vertical axis concept developed by Strong Industries in Houston,Texas.

Semi trailer bottom dump truck

A half bottom dump, bottom hopper or belly dump is a (usually) 3 axle tractor that tows a 2 axle trailer with a clamshell dump door on the belly of the trailer. The main advantage of half bottom pouring is its ability to deposit material in linear piles. Also, unlike the two-trailer and three-trailer configurations described below,half-bottom dumpers can be maneuvered in reverse. These trailers may be stackable trailers as shown in the photo,or they may be crossover trailers with doors opening front to back instead of left to right. Cross-spreading gates actually spread grain fairly and evenly across the width of the trailer. In contrast, stack doors leave a stack in the middle.Cross spread gates,on the other hand, clog easily and may not handle rough material well.

Double and triple trailer bottom dump truck

Double and triple bottom dumps consist of a 2-axle tractor towing a single-axle semi-trailer and an additional trailer (or three trailers). These dump trucks allow the driver to lay material in the stockpile without leaving the cab or stopping the truck. The main disadvantage is that it is difficult to support dual and triple connections. The particular type of dump truck used in any particular country is likely to be closely related to the weight and axle limits of that jurisdiction. The rocks, dirt, and other types of materials that this type of truck typically hauls are so heavy that almost any type of truck can be easily overloaded. Because of this, trucks of this type are often configured to take advantage of local weight restrictions to maximize cargo. For example, within the United States, the nationwide maximum weight limit is 40 short tons (36.3 tons; 35.7 long tons), but specific bridges have lower weight limits. In some cases, individual states are allowed to approve trucks up to 52.5 short tons (47.6 tons; 46.9 long tons). Most states that do this require the truck to be very long in order to spread the weight over a greater distance. It is against this backdrop that double and triple bottoms have emerged within the United States.

Side dump truck

A Side Dump Truck (SDT) consists of a 3-axle tractor towing a 2-axle semi-trailer. It has hydraulic cylinders that tilt the tipper body to one side, spilling material to the left or right side of the trailer. The main advantage of side dumping is that it allows quick unloading and can carry more weight in the western United States. Also,it hardly tips over (tips over) when tipped over, unlike half-end tipping which is very easy to tip over. However, if you stop tipping too soon, there is a good chance that a roll trailer will tip over. Also, when dumping loose material or pebble-sized stones, the side dumper can jam if the pile becomes wide enough to cover too many trailer wheels. A trailer dumped at an appropriate angle (eg 50°) avoids the problem of the dumped load contaminating the trailer's wheel path by dumping the load further to the side of the truck,in some cases leaving enough space between the dumped load Clearance to walk load and trailer.

Winter service vehicles

Many winter service vehicles are based on dump trucks to allow the placement of ballast to reduce the weight of the truck or to contain sodium chloride or calcium chloride salts for spreading on snow-covered surfaces.Plowing the land is hard work and requires heavy duty trucks.
