Product Description
Jinke JK820 Heavy-Duty Crawler DTH Drilling Rig

The JK820 is the big brother in our crawler DTH lineup. We built it for mines and quarries that run serious daily production volumes and need a machine that handles bigger holes, deeper depths, and harder rock without slowing down. Like the JK810, everything lives on one chassis -- engine, screw compressor, hydraulic system, and mast. But the JK820 steps up in weight class, compressor output, and structural build to take on work that would push a lighter rig past its comfort zone. We have these machines running blast hole patterns in large open-pit mines, hard granite quarries, and major infrastructure projects where downtime is not an option.

What Makes the JK820 Different

Bigger compressor, faster drilling

The JK820 packs a higher-output screw compressor directly coupled to the engine. More air volume and pressure at the hammer means faster penetration in hard rock and less time per hole. If you are drilling granite or basalt all day, this is the spec that matters most.

Heavier chassis, more stable

The JK820 runs on a beefed-up crawler frame with wider tracks and a heavier base weight. More mass on the ground means less vibration during drilling, straighter holes, and longer bit life. The reinforced mast handles high feed force without flexing.

Wider hole range, deeper reach

The JK820 covers a broader hole diameter range and reaches deeper than our JK810. If your blast patterns call for 115mm to 165mm holes or you need to drill past 60 meters, this is the rig sized for that work.

One operator, full control

Same single-operator setup as our other rigs. Full hydraulic pilot controls with proportional joysticks. Automatic rod carousel handles the drill steel. The operator drives it to position, levels the mast, sets the angle, and drills -- no helper, no separate compressor operator, no crew of three.

Runs all day on one tank

Large fuel and hydraulic tanks sized for a full production shift. The engine and compressor are matched for efficiency at working RPM, so you are not burning extra fuel at idle or running the compressor at the wrong speed for the hammer.

Same platform, multiple jobs

Set it up for blast hole drilling as the primary job, then swap the hammer and bit for anchor drilling, pile foundation work, or water well drilling when the project changes. The base machine does not change, just the tooling at the end of the drill string.

Drilling Performance by Rock Type
Rock type Typical speed Bit size range
Soft limestone, shale, marl 1.0 - 1.8 meters per minute 115 - 165 mm
Medium sandstone, dolomite 0.6 - 1.2 meters per minute 105 - 140 mm
Hard granite, basalt 0.3 - 0.7 meters per minute 105 - 127 mm
Very hard quartzite, gneiss, iron ore 0.15 - 0.4 meters per minute 105 - 115 mm
Broken, fractured ground 0.5 - 1.0 meters per minute 115 - 165 mm

Field data averaged across customer sites. Speed varies with rock hardness, bit wear, hammer condition, air pressure, hole depth, and operator skill. Deeper holes and harder rock reduce penetration rate.

Jobs the JK820 Handles

Large-scale quarry production

Daily blast hole drilling in high-output granite, limestone, and aggregate quarries. Handles the continuous duty cycle that production quarries demand.

Open-pit mining

Blast hole patterns in iron ore, copper, gold, and coal mines. Built for the larger hole diameters and deeper benches common in hard rock mining.

Major infrastructure projects

Highway and railway rock excavation, dam foundation drilling, tunnel portal preparation. Works where the geology is tough and the hole specs are demanding.

Deep anchoring and geotechnical work

Deep anchor holes for large retaining structures, landslide stabilization systems, and dam tie-downs that need extended reach beyond standard blast hole depths.

Large-scale solar and wind farm foundations

Pile hole drilling for utility-scale renewable energy projects where hundreds or thousands of holes need to go in across challenging terrain.

Deep water well drilling

Community and agricultural water supply wells that need to reach deeper aquifers. Handles the extended drill string weight and higher air requirements of deep water well work.

Common Questions
How does the JK820 compare to the JK810?
The JK820 is a heavier, more powerful machine. It handles larger hole diameters (up to 165mm vs 140mm on the JK810), drills deeper (80m vs 60m), and delivers more compressor output for faster penetration in hard rock. If you are drilling granite or basalt in high volumes, the JK820 will outwork the JK810 by a meaningful margin. If your holes are under 140mm and your rock is moderate, the JK810 may be the better value. Tell us your hole specs and rock type and we will recommend which model fits.
What is the actual fuel burn per shift?
Fuel burn depends on how hard the machine is working. Under continuous drilling load, expect roughly 15 to 22 liters per hour. The fuel tank is sized for a full production shift without stopping to refill. Lighter work or intermittent drilling will use less.
Can we buy just the rig without the compressor?
The compressor is built into the machine, so no. But that is the whole point of the JK820. You avoid buying, towing, maintaining, and fueling a separate compressor. The integration saves you money and setup time over the life of the machine.
How many people to run it?
One operator from driving to drilling to rod changes. The hydraulic auto-loader handles the physical work of adding and removing 3-meter drill rods. Most operators are productive within a week of training.
What about spare parts availability?
We use industry-standard components for wearing parts. DTH hammers, bits, chuck bushings, hydraulic filters, engine filters, track hardware -- all standard sizes that you can source from multiple suppliers. We include a starter spares kit and keep a deeper inventory for express dispatch. You are not locked into buying parts only from us.
Do you handle the export process?
Yes. We prepare the full export documentation package -- commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading. We can coordinate with your freight forwarder or recommend one. We have shipped to Central Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and multiple African countries.
