Air Dryer Desiccant Cartridge — DZ91189360049, DZ95189362020

This is the consumable filter cartridge that goes inside your truck air dryer. The desiccant beads inside soak up moisture from the compressed air before it hits your brake valves and air tanks. Over time the beads get saturated with water and oil — that is when you swap in a new cartridge.

When to replace

• Every 12 months under normal use
• Every 100,000 km — whichever comes first
• Sooner if you see moisture in the air tanks when draining
• Sooner if your compressor is passing oil (fix the compressor first though)

Simple swap

Unscrew the old cartridge counterclockwise. Clean the housing threads. Screw the new one in hand-tight then another quarter turn. No gaskets to mess with — the O-ring is pre-installed on the cartridge. Takes about 5 minutes roadside.
