JK850 Electric Drive Water Well Drilling Rig

If your site has three-phase power available, the electric version of the JK850 is the cheaper machine to run over a full year. There is no diesel to haul in, no fuel tank to keep topped up, and the motor is noticeably quieter than a diesel at full load. The 110KW Y315S-4 electric motor drives the same rotary table, the same 80KN main hoist, and the same mud pump circuit as the diesel version - nothing gets downgraded because you chose electric.

We build the JK850 as one base rig and fit the power unit according to where it will work. Customers who run it near towns, farms with grid access, or sites with their own generators usually pick the electric motor. It starts instantly in cold weather, which matters when the crew arrives on site at 7am in winter.

Rig performance

The rotary table has an 850mm through hole and delivers 34KN.m of torque, so it turns large-diameter tools and casing without straining. Drilling diameter ranges from 105mm up to 600mm, and rated depth is 850 meters. The 47m mast clears 6-meter drill pipe sections, and the main hoist pulls 80KN single rope - enough to handle the heaviest tool strings this rig is rated for.

Mud circulation comes from an 850 L/min mud pump, sized to keep the hole clean at depth. Round drill pipe options are 219, 245, 273, and 325mm, with 141mm square or 89mm hex kelly bars.

Transport and setup

The rig ships as major components on a flatbed truck or in a container. On-site assembly takes three to five days with a small crew and basic lifting equipment. All critical connections are bolted - no welding on site. Standard shipment includes spare brake bands, seals, and mast sheave bearings.
