Standard water well rigs struggle in hard rock. Regular roller bits wear out fast on basalt or granite and you end up spending more time changing bits than actually drilling. This JK1300 comes set up specifically for hard formations.
What makes it different:
Rest of the rig is standard JK1300. BW850 mud pump is included too because you'll still use mud drilling in the softer sections, just switch to DTH when you hit hard rock.
Had a customer in Ethiopia using this setup through volcanic basalt, they were getting about 8-10m per hour where their old rig was doing 2-3m. Makes a real difference.
